Wabi Sabi sits on a quiet lane in Tinsukia, in that far-eastern corner of Upper Assam where the map starts to thin out. In front: a small garden of hibiscus and the slow rhythm of a residential street. Behind: the land falls into open marsh and trails off toward a little bamboo forest, mist in the early hours, water-light through the reeds, and birdsong that no one here arranged.

This philosophy was not added to the house as branding. It was already present in the way the home existed, in the marsh, the bamboo, the birds, and the slower rhythm of life.
"Reetuparna, your host and an illustrator, came to it through her work. Her research explores how we humans share the world with everything that isn't us, including the animals, plants and small lives at the edges."

"Her mother-in-law, Krishna, keeps the rhythm of the house, with saah in the morning, hibiscus from the garden, and a pitha when the season calls for it.
We don't perform Assam for our guests. We simply live it, and leave the door open for you to live it with us."
Wabi Sabi is a quiet home first. Stillness is our identity. We try to imbibe the Japanese concept of Shizukesa, where the physicality of the serene atmosphere is felt and lived in real time. And once everything settles down, the whistling wind, the rustling leaves, the rhythmic tapping of the raindrops on the windowpane and the crickets of the night make the most exquisite symphonies, each familiar yet more unique than the other.
